The National Prosecuting Authority on Friday postponed an announcement about whether criminal charges would be dropped against the leader of the governing party, Jacob Zuma. Prosecutors have been locked in meetings much of the week, and local reports, based on anonymous sources, have said the decision now revolves around new evidence submitted by Mr. Zuma's lawyers of alleged political interference in the case.
